Flight Sim X
How do you download and add planes to Microsoft Flight Sim X?
I have the plane downloading now and not sure what to do after that. Anyone out there that can help and has done this before? Thanks
1) After download, unzip the .zip folder so you can see all of its contents.
2) Read the “read me” file that came with it (it should open in MS Notepad). If the instructions there aren’t clear to you, then try this:
1) If you downloaded a FULL aircraft model (and not just textures), there should be a Model folder, a Panel folder, a Sound folder, 1 or more Texture folders, an Aircraft file, a .air file and maybe some reference files.
2) Make a new folder on your desktop and name it the name of the aircraft.
3) Move or copy all of those files and folders into the new folder you just created.
4) If your aircraft is a helicopter, go to C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XSimObjectsRotorcraft and move or paste your new folder there.
5) If your aircraft is a fixed-wing, go to C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XSimObjectsAirplanes and move or paste your new folder there.
